SLM has obtained the EPD environmental product certification for wire and PC strand

On May 4, 2020, SLM obtained the Environment Product Declaration (EPD) for wire and PC strand

The Environment Product Declaration (EPD) declares the environmental sustainability of the products according to the indexes defined by the international standards ISO 14025 e EN 15804. It also establishes the compliance with the “National Plan for Green Public Procurement”, constituting Annex to the Ministerial Decree of 11 October 20211 that defines the minimum environmental criteria for the supply in public works and construction and according to which the EPD certificate meets a necessary requirement for usable materials.

The Declaration is issued by a certified institution and exceeds the self-declaration LEED, focused only on products’ secondary steel content. 

The EPD is added to the already obtained Environmental Certification UNI EN ISO 14001 and proves the SLM’s proactive approach to environmental issues. By choosing SLM’s products, end users and customers gain immediately a competitive advantage as an improvement requirement compared to material without this recognition.
